the shOws

Day ONE

the shOws kicked off Monday, drawing a very select fashion crowd to Toronto's Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Still in its infancy, the Paola Fullerton Inc event has remained true to its original vision of drawing more attention to talented designers plying their trade outside our borders.

Brussels-based Canadian David Szeto, who launched his first ready-to-wear line in 1993, opened the third season of the shOws, led off by Elite's 5'9" new face Daria.

Straight from the latest published story on JURIED and on to the runway is Krystal Reeve (@KrystalReeve).

The Next Canada model is a favourite among fashion show producers for her flawless walk and ability to adapt to whatever outfit she's wearing.

As we tweeted last week, the way she stares into the photo pit as she works her way down the runway is simply outstanding.

Last week you may have also spotted the 5'9" brunette in shows for Korhani, Martin Lim and Mélissa Nepton.

Last season Modelresource contributor Ksenia Mezenina (@KsenKam) - who, judging by her Paris missives, is almost definitely enjoying Macaron Day, today - happened to be attending the shOws as a fashion blogger when she was plucked out of the crowd and dropped into Todd Lynn's lineup.

This season the 5'8½" Elite model nailed her casting the old fashioned way and ended up walking again, for David Szeto.

Modelresource has never made its love for Teisha Evanson a secret.

Shows I've produced in the past always featured the Next model, usually either opening or closing.

In fact, she was this website's choice for top model in Spring / Summer 2008, when she absolutely stole the show closing for GSUS'.

It was great to see her back on the runway Monday night.

This one's kind of special, because it marks the runway debut for 5'10" Jovana.

B&M has put quite a bit of effort into developing this new face, to whom we first introduced you in July.

Great to see the rewards coming back.

Immediately following Jovana, was someone whose own runway vintage reached the one week mark on Monday.

A Chantale Nadeau discovery, 5'11" newbie Zoë (with Sutherland), now has six shows under her tiny belt.
